Civics in Action-After School Program Lead Instructor

Description

Beyond U is seeking a Brown University volunteer to serve as the lead instructor for Civics in Action, an after-school program focused on student advocacy, civic engagement, and helping middle school students understand how they can take an active role in government and their communities. The instructor will lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that introduce students to government, public policy, community issues, leadership, and effective advocacy while supporting students in identifying issues they care about and developing their own voices. Applicants should be dependable, enthusiastic about working with young people, and comfortable facilitating discussions and hands-on projects. To be eligible for this position, the selected volunteer must successfully complete a national BCI background check before working with students.
