About: Each fall, this event brings together food system leaders, advocates, farmers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, government partners, researchers, and community members from across Rhode Island to launch the Council's policy priority-setting process for the upcoming legislative session. The day includes Council updates, networking opportunities, and collaborative breakout sessions focused on food access and nutrition security, food business and economic development, and food, climate, and the environment. Together, participants work toward a shared vision of a more equitable, accessible, economically vibrant, and environmentally sustainable food system in Rhode Island. Volunteers play an essential role in creating a welcoming and successful event. Whether you're greeting attendees, helping capture the day through photography, supporting breakout discussions, or assisting with event logistics, your contributions help ensure the event runs smoothly and that participants can focus on building relationships and advancing meaningful policy solutions.
