Who We Are
The Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center (BVAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and related abuse in Rhode Island. For over 40 years, we have been a vital resource for individuals and families seeking safety, healing, and hope.
Our compassionate team provides 24/7 crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, legal support, prevention education, and community outreach. We serve survivors of all ages, backgrounds, and identities—because everyone deserves to live free from violence.
BVAC is rooted in the belief that safety is a basic human right. We work hand-in-hand with community partners, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and schools to break the cycle of abuse and promote healthy, empowered relationships.
At BVAC, we don’t just respond to crisis—we help rebuild lives.
What We Do
At the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center (BVAC), we provide comprehensive, trauma-informed services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and related abuse. Our goal is to ensure safety, support healing, and promote long-term stability for survivors across Rhode Island.
