The Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island (JCDSRI) is a welcoming and inclusive elementary school, serving children 3 years old through 5th grade. We are looking for a part-time Afterschool Teacher to assist (and at times lead) from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during afterschool childcare hours. Ideally, this person would also be able to assist in classrooms during the school day on Mondays and Tuesdays, and serve as an on-call substitute on other days. Joyful and meaningful play: Encourage and engage inplay with students; foster positive relationships and connection with and amongst students. Support dismissal operations: Help the school dismiss students at the end of day before collecting afterschool participants. Required skills and qualifications Have a high level of respect for young children Are committed to integrity, excellence, JOY, and are an ethical & respectful teacher Have experience in early-childhood education and developmentally appropriate practice See yourself as a life-long learner; you embrace feedback & productive challenges An open-mind, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and grow as a teacher Salary range is $20,000-$30,000 depending on experience and expertise.
