Our Lunch Service Assistants play an essential role in supporting Hamilton House's lunch service program, which provides lunch to older adults in a welcoming and social environment, Monday-Friday. This program is an important part of what we offer, because it helps to combat isolation & loneliness and provides a nutritious meal that our members can enjoy in community. This position involves assisting with simple food preparation (such as heating soup and preparing sandwiches made to order), and helping with the overall kitchen and dining area setup and cleanup.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and serving lunch to members
- Ensure the dining area is clean and welcoming
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to provide efficient and friendly meal service
- Clean-up after service
- Follow food safety guidelines
Skills & Qualifications:
- Interest in supporting older adults and the community
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work with others
- No prior kitchen experience is necessary (there is not cooking; only food preparation and service from the Cafe window)

Lunch service runs from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. This 4 hour shift includes arrival with time for prep and clean up. Shift are available Monday - Friday. Currently our most pressing need is Fridays.
