Bach & Boogie – Intergenerational Music & Memory Care (Facilitation + Research Opportunity)

Calendar Get Connected Icon ongoing
Time 10-11am

Description

Bach & Boogie is a weekly music and movement program that brings together babies, parents, and seniors - often within memory care settings.

The goal isn’t performance or instruction, but connection. Through simple, real music (classical, jazz, folk), we create shared moments between very young children and older adults - many of whom are experiencing memory loss or reduced verbal communication.

We are currently running sessions in the Providence area and are looking for Brown students who are interested in:

• Facilitating or assisting in classes

• Exploring intergenerational connection in a real-world setting

• Contributing to a potential research or evaluation initiative around music, memory, and social engagement

This is a simple, joyful environment- no musical expertise required. Students in psychology, public health, education, neuroscience, the arts, or community-based work may find this especially relevant.

We’re especially interested in students who may want to help shape a lightweight research or outcomes-focused component in collaboration with Brown.

This is an opportunity to be part of something early, human, and growing.

If you're especially interested in storytelling, content, or helping the program locally, there may also be opportunities in support outreach and marketing.
