Providence Streets Coalition

Who We Are

PSC is fiscally sponsored by our mission-aligned partner Grow Smart RI whose goal is to lead and engage Rhode Islanders in advancing neighborhood revitalization, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity for all. PSC has a long and established track record of mobilizing community members to support and experience our active transportation systems. Our recent activities include: Organizing quarterly strategy and action-planning meetings with our 42 organizational members and monthly Community Organizing Group “COG” (approximately 80 individuals). Working with the Rhode Island Department of Health and Grow Smart Rhode Island to administer the Rhode Island Streets Transformation Project and with AARP on both the Walk, Talk n’ Chalk program and Hope Street Temporary Trail. Organizing with Coalition members, community members, state legislators, and public agencies on campaigns like Save RIPTA (this will be a 2025-2026 focus area).

What We Do

Providence Streets Coalition (PSC) is an alliance of 42 community organizations, businesses, schools, neighborhood associations, and individuals supporting human-centered streets in Providence and beyond. We are building the relationships and advocacy tools necessary to change infrastructure, policy, and mobility systems in Rhode Island. We are working towards a transportation network that supports equitable, affordable, and sustainable movement for people of all ages, incomes, and abilities.
