Rhode Island Parrot Rescue

Rhode Island Parrot Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Rhode Island devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of exotic birds. From our home base and our Maine satellite location, we serve birds and adoptive families throughout New England. Re-established in 2015 as a small but passionate rescue, our dedicated team provides daily care to every bird who comes through our doors. We also educate adopters to ensure each bird transitions into a home equipped to meet their emotional and physical needs—so that bird and human can truly thrive together. We dream of a world where rescues like ours are no longer needed. Until then, we remain their voice, their hands, and their safe place to land.

our work goes far beyond rescue—we focus on giving every bird the chance to live a healthy, enriched life. Each day, our team provides medical care, balanced nutrition, training, and enrichment to parrots in need. We rehabilitate birds who may have experienced neglect or trauma, helping them build trust and confidence again. We also work closely with potential adopters, guiding them through education and training so that every adoption is set up for long-term success. In addition, we provide outreach and resources to the community, raising awareness about parrot welfare, responsible ownership, and the importance of adoption. Through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and education, we strive to create brighter futures for parrots while strengthening the bond between people and these incredible birds.
