Who We Are

Founded in 1894 as The Travelers Aid Committee of the YWCA to assist vulnerable women, traveling to Providence. Crossroads has been serving those in need for over 125 years. Our mission has since evolved to help individuals and families in need overcome their homelessness. Our values underlie every action, policy, plan, procedure, and decision made at Crossroads. Safety – Promoting a trauma-informed culture, free from physical and emotional harm that fosters empowerment, healing, and belonging. Respect – Understanding the intrinsic worth and dignity of every person. Effectiveness – Delivering services and managing the organization with equity, efficiency, innovation, and accountability.

What We Do

We are the leading provider of housing and services to those experiencing homelessness in Rhode Island. Using the best practices Housing First Model, we strive to help homeless or at-risk individuals and families secure stable housing. We provide a range of specialized services to meet the unique needs of our clients, including: -Housing in more than 370 residences statewide -24-hour/7-day-a-week emergency services -Education and employment services -Comprehensive case management
