Full-time Middle and Upper School Physical Education teacher

St. Mary Academy - Bay View is seeking a full-time Middle and Upper School Physical Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes students' physical, social-emotional, and personal growth. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop lifelong habits of health and wellness while fostering teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and confidence. Key Responsibilities:

● Plan and deliver engaging physical education and health instruction that promotes lifelong wellness, physical fitness, healthy decision-making, and personal responsibility.
● Design, implement, and assess lessons that are developmentally appropriate and responsive to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
● Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
● Support students' social-emotional development while maintaining high expectations for respectful behavior, personal accountability, and positive relationships.
● Differentiate instruction and activities to promote success for all learners.
● Use Google Classroom and other instructional technologies to communicate class expectations, provide learning resources, and enhance student engagement.
● Collaborate with colleagues, families, and school leadership to support student growth and the overall student experience.
● Supervise students assigned Physical Education classes through Independent Study.
● Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
● Perform other duties as assigned in support of the division and school community.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
● Experience teaching physical education and health at the middle and/or upper school level is preferred.
● Demonstrated knowledge of age-appropriate instructional practices and adolescent development.
● Ability to create engaging, active, and inclusive learning experiences.
● Strong classroom and group management skills.
● A positive attitude, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and genuine enthusiasm for working with students and families.
● Strong work ethic and a caring temperament
