McAuley Ministries, based in Providence, Rhode Island, is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and rooted in the ideals of its founder, Catherine McAuley. Our ministry provides the basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health services, emotional support and guidance to the most vulnerable in our community.
What We Do
Through the three branches of McAuley Ministries we are able to tend to the immediate needs of those who seek our help, as well as advocate for lasting change and support.
McAULEY HOUSE
A meal site and social service community center. We open our doors at 8am Monday through Friday and welcome guests to join us for a day of food, fellowship, program activities, and much needed social services in a safe and comforting atmosphere.
McAULEY VILLAGE
Safe, affordable, supportive housing for single homeless mothers and their children.
McAuley Village prides itself on offering programs and services that help the family live their best life possible and assists the mother in all ways possible to achieve housing and financial security. Quality childcare is a critical need that enables these families to gain financial independence.
THE WARDE-ROBE
A volunteer-supported thrift store in Central Falls, at 1286 Broad Street, offering quality used clothing and household goods to those in need. With a welcoming atmosphere, the store preserves the dignity of each person who walks through its doors.
