Who We Are

The Epiphany Soup Kitchen (ESK) is a non-profit organization in Providence, RI that started at our namesake, the now closed South Providence Epiphany Episcopal Church. ESK was later rescued in 1981 when it was at risk of closing down due to lack of volunteers. When the Bishop closed and sold the church in 1988, ESK moved to Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Providence. In 2009, we moved to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where we are currently located.

What We Do

ESK is your classic assembly-line-style meal site, and is staffed weekly by volunteers from different parishes, schools, and organizations. We feed a hot meal to people in need every Saturday afternoon.

Volunteer hours are every Saturday from 2:30-5:30pm, and you can come as often or as little as you'd like. Shifts are broken into 2 hour blocks, either Shift 1 from 2:30-4:30 or Shift 2 from 3:30-5:30.

Jobs will include chopping vegetables, plating desserts, serving the guests, doing dishes, etc. Level of commitment is up to the individual and can range from once a semester to once a month to every week. No experience or religious background is necessary!

If you have any questions or are interested in signing up to help out, please email our volunteer coordinator, Elizabeth, at ESK.Prov@gmail.com!
