BrownEngage is a space for local
organizations to more easily be connected to students,
faculty, and staff at Brown University as well as other volunteers. The portal enables campus stakeholders to
find community agencies who are open to volunteers and collaborators from Brown University. We encourage both campus and community stakeholders to share 'traditional' volunteer opportunities as well as other projects or opportunities where you are open to collaboration.
The Swearer Center for Public Service works to connect the resources of Brown University to community-based entities to advance work focused on social justice and the public good. Swearer manages this platform as a resource to the campus and the community and - unless expressly noted in a specific need, event, or opportunity - does not oversee or actively endorse any given opportunity or a specific person who is engaging.
BrownEngage is predicated on partners and users communicating expectations and sharing clear requirements necessary for ensuring adequate preparation and mutuality.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at BrownEngage@Brown.edu.

Students and Volunteers: To find a particular type of community opportunity, go to the "Needs" section. Search for keywords or phases that relate to your interest(s) or use the filter tool to narrow the list of available needs.
Community and Campus Groups: You can navigate the site both as an individual and on behalf of an agency. If your organization was on our previous site it should have been transferred to this new site. You should have received an email to claim your agency account. Search for your organization under the 'Agencies' section. If your organization appears email us at BrownEngage@brown.edu to claim your agency. If your agency is not on the site you can create an agency here.
To get started with your Agency profile check out resources for Agency managers on the Knowledge Base Site.
